Ian Hancock made a serious mistake. Wikipedia says that he coined the term Porajmos after what an old Kalderash said:

Hancock chosed the term, coined by a Kalderash Rom, from a number of suggestions in an "informal conversation in 1993".[8] The term is used mostly by activists and is unknown to most Roma, including relatives of victims and survivors.[7] Some Russian and Balkan Romani activists protest against using the word porajmos.[8] In various dialects, porajmos is synonymous with poravipe which means "violation" and "rape", a term which some Roma consider to be offensive.( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porajmos#cite_note-13)

My grandmother Iordana was a survivor of Holocaust. She was a native Romni (gypsy woman). She never used the word Porajmos reffering to Holocaust. In Romania, all the Kalderash gypsies consider this word very offensive, because is used in curses, even it has another meanings. Some examples:

Poravau- I rape, I fuck.

Poravau o mui- I open the moth/ I stare.

Poravau e bakri- I skin the goat.

The most used meaning of Porajmos is Rape. I cannot understand why a man which used to hide his gypsy identity is considered a big scholar. Look at his cursing against my mother:

Zha xa tjira daki minzh, chapladea. Jasno si ke tikno raklo san. Te barjos. Te phurjos.

Translation:

Go and eat your mother”s VAGINA. It is clear that you are a NON-ROMA. Grow up.

In 2012 he sent me another email saying that he is afraid of me because he supposed that I am a POLICEMAN. I know that just A THIEF is afraid by anyone. Look at the hard curses of PROFESOR IAN HANCOK:

xa mo kar chapladeja- EAT MY PENIS! Ian Hancock said to me…a real profesor.

He never finished his high school but he is a profesor of Romani language at Texas University. The prove that he never finished his high-school but has three 3! PHd degrees, it is TRUTH said by Ian Hancock HIMSELF:

9. What inspired you to begin writing and publishing?

If you read Dileep Karanth’s introduction to Danger! Educated Gypsy you’ll see that my entry into the academic world was somewhat unusual. I didn’t have much early education and didn’t finish high-school, but was given the remarkable opportunity to attend London University. I was the first Romani in Britain to get a PhD, and am the first Romani professor to teach at an American university (there are a couple of others now). When my situation became known, I was practically bullied by friends to put my education to use, given the practically non-existent number of educated Romanies in Britain at that time (the mid ’60s). With the confidence my new degree gave me, I began to write.

IAN HANCOCK WAS ASHAMED BY HIS GYPSY IDENTITY, AND HE USED TO HIDE IT!

Growing up in England, Professor Hancock was told to hide his Roma or "Gypsy" identity; now he celebrates his ethnic heritage and has made it his mission in life to help ensure that future generations of Roma do the same.

"I now, as I look back on my life, find it very sad that I was told to hide my identity — not many ethnic groups are told: 'pretend to be something else' — and to me this is very, very sad. We have to stop this; we have to feel better about ourselves before other people can feel better about us." (http://romove.radio.cz/en/clanek/20298)

A real Roma person NEVER hides his Romani identity! Ian Hancock is a COVARD, he cannot represent our nation. He cursed my mother one week ago. My grandmother was at Auschwitz. I am curious if someone from his family was in Auschwitz….
