Motto: “These Are the Days of Our Lives”
QUEEN, the Album INNUENDO, 1991
These three songs are dedicated to my colleagues Suki (Hong Kong), Cyrill (Philippines), Haitham (Jordan) and Cam (Vietnam) who listened to the powerful story of Ashura Day told by Hussein, our Manager…
First Song - Versatile truth: The rain
just before breakfast was served
with elegant hand gestures,
the sky has been divided in pieces of crimson sand
and I’ve perceived the side of the water
smashing into minimal stones,
one by one,
running and climbing up the thoughts -
days into minutes,
seconds into seasons and drops.
the evening turned blue,
speeding up against lights
No more dawn into my sight:
the Sun forgot its own explosions,
the Earth concealed the nature
and received the night.
Please, let my eyes find
the justice of joy,
it’s time once more
for saluting the morning.
Second Song – Alone: The city
There is no light
when pain climbs down along the city;
in those anchors.
The whole world talks
and blinks the face of Haven.
It’s only me:
the rest is gravely stuck inside.
Third Song – Payday: The wind
The transfer of the rights
from the tree
to the leaves
should be understood as a joke.
We still consider it swift to deny accusations
for payments -
no matter how long,
no matter how deep,
no matter how far in the past.
